On March 20th, 2004, 50 administrators from 13 LAN parties and 4 states gathered to launch the LAN Party Association of New England. At the conference, the admins talked about topics such as LAN party scheduling conflicts, producing better events, sharing resources, and much more. Friendships were born. New ideas surfaced. At the end of the night, every admin drove home with a greater sense of collaboration and community.

In addition to LPANE emerging as a symbol of a unified New England LAN Party scene, www.lpane.net has been designed to serve as the single best resource for the gamers of New England.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.   What is LPANE?

A. LPANE stands for the LAN Party Association of New England. It is comprised of LAN party administrators from all over New England. We are the ultimate LAN party network, with more than administrators from over NE LAN parties.

Q.   So, you're just a LAN Party listing website?

A. No. Although a great feature of the website is the list of upcoming LAN parties on the homepage, we are not simply a LAN Party list. LPANE is a symbol of the unification of New England LAN parties. LPANE members dedicate a good share of their efforts to helping each other and developing LPANE.

Q. What does LPANE represent?

A. LPANE represents a unified New England LAN party scene. It's the collaboration of the NE LAN administrators to foster a great community.

Q. What's the need for this type of collaboration?

A. Primarily, the idea was generated because of scheduling conflicts. While all the NE LAN parties are interested in seeing other parties succeed, communication between parties for scheduling events was poor. Often, there would be 2 or 3 events in the same state scheduled for the same day. This not only draws from LAN party attendance, but was causing negative competition between the LANs. This is the first issue where LPANE will prove to be very helpful.

Q. Who is LPANE?

A. While the members of LPANE are sure to grow and change over time, the following LAN parties were instrumental in its creation: The BadLANs, LanChelms, LANLegends, AdrenaLANrush, ControlOps, Pop'N'Fresh, T][S LAN Crew, MAXFrag, Frag Space, New England LAN Party, Geeks and Games, Frag for Toys, and East Coast Massacre.

Q. What exactly are you trying to do?

A. The members of LPANE are dedicated to building friendships, improving LAN party communication, and developing the video gaming community of New England for the benefit of every gamer.

Q. For every gamer? I play games and live in New England - what does this do for me?

A. There is absolutely no hidden motives, monetary or otherwise behind LPANE. The LAN parties that you attend are run by normal people who put a lot of time, effort and money into the events they throw. Their only reward is a sense of pride and accomplishment, and the opportunity to do something great with their gaming passions. The same holds true for LPANE. The NE LAN administrators seek only to better their events for you.

Q. What is the website for?

A. The website has two purposes. The first is to introduce LPANE and its aim to all that are interested. The second purpose is to provide a "one stop shop" for gamers looking for an event to attend.

The site features a list of upcoming LAN parties in New England with current registration information pulled direct from the LAN party websites. Also listed are direct links to event and registration information. Additionally, the site features constantly updated LAN party news from the LPANE members. Finally, there's a large amount of community and resource features that we hope local gamers will find beneficial.

Q. Who maintains the LPANE website?

A. The LPANE website is completely maintained by its members and features an administrative section for LAN admins. Designed and implemented by veteran LAN party admin, bread_man, it allows advanced scheduling, posting of news and information updates. The site will be as successful as the LAN party admins want it to be!

Q. I want to promote my LAN party. Can I be part of the LPANE website?

A. If you're just looking to promote your party, there are many LAN party listings available for that single purpose. Being a part of LPANE foremost requires an understanding of what LPANE is trying to do and a desire to be dedicated to the LPANE community. Your LAN party must also be well established, having run at at least 3 events or have been around for at least 6 months.

Q. Our LAN party understands and would love to be a member. How do we apply?

A. You can submit your application on the apply page. Your submission will be reviewed by the Board of Directors. Thanks for your interest!
